Sneak peek: Here's what Mumbai Film Festival has in store for you

The 15th edition of Mumbai Film Festival, organised by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI), will take place from 17-24 October and the academy has already made the line up of films public on their Facebook page.  However, the schedule is yet to be announced. The line up seems very interesting and boasts of a good mix of World Cinema, Hollywood films and restored classics. This year, the academy in co-ordination with the Spanish embassy will also host a celebration of Spanish films, with classics such as El Verdugo, Seven Days in January, Carmen being showcased. Many mainstream Hollywood films, like Don Jon, The Butler, Inside Llewyn Davis and Only God Forgives will also be showcased. Tina Ambani, patron of MAMI said: “Mumbai is the cradle of Indian cinema, embracing its yesterday, reflecting today and welcoming every tomorrow. This logo reflects the ethos of the city and the festival.” The new identity has used an array of colours, each one representing a particular category at the festival while at the same time reflecting the diverse cultural mosaic of financial capital of India. The 15th edition of Mumbai Film Festival will also pay tribute to late Indian filmmakers like Yash Chopra and Rituparno Ghosh.
