Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty’s action-blockbuster Simmba , which has been on a record-breaking spree ever since its release on 28 December 2018, has surpassed the lifetime business of Chennai Express to emerge as the filmmaker’s highest grossing film ever, on its third week. Simmba has also raked over Rs 350 crores at the global box office, and now ranks under the top 10 highest-grossing Bollywood film in the domestic market, according to Livemint. Despite fresh releases, including _Uri: The Surgical Strike_ and _The Accidental Prime Minister_ hitting screens on 11 January, Simmba was able to maintain its stronghold even after three weeks. With Simmba, Shetty has become the first director to have eight consecutive films enter the Rs 100 crore net domestic box office club. He is the second director in India with three films to enter the Rs 200 crore club, according to the makers. Simmba has also become the second film of Ranveer Singh to cross the Rs 200 crore mark in 2018, apart from Padmaavat.
