Simmba box office collection Day 2: Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan film earns Rs 23.3 cr, totaling to Rs 44 cr
Rohit Shetty's action entertainer Simmba has earned Rs 44.05 crore at the domestic box office.

Rohit Shetty's action entertainer Simmba, starring Ranveer Singh as Sangram Bhalerao, a Goan police officer, earned Rs 20.72 crore on the opening day. The film, which has Sara Ali Khan playing Ranveer's love interest, has witnessed a growth by 12.6 percent, raking in Rs 23.33 crore on the second day of its release. Simmba's collection now stands at Rs 44.05 crore.

According to trade analysts, the film has performed exceptionally across the Mumbai circuit and has picked up in other circuits as well on day 2.

It was previously reported that Simmba is also Ranveer's biggest opening day collection by far with a close second from Padmaavat, which earned Rs 19 crore.
Simmba is expected to give considerable competition to Shah Rukh Khan's Zero which released prior to the Christmas weekend last week.
It is based on the Telugu film Temper, which starred Jr NTR. Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Rohit Shetty Picturez, Simmba released on 27 December.
