Shootout at Wadala faces protests, bans in Punjab

According to reports, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Bathinda, Amritsar and Moga have cancelled the movie screening after an outfit called Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj complained that certain dialogues of the movie have offended the community.

Shootout at Wadala faces protests, bans in Punjab

After John Abraham starrer S_hootout at Wadala_ faced a delayed release in Pakistan for being too provocative, it has been banned from many theaters in Punjab. According to reports, theatres in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Bathinda, Amritsar and Moga have cancelled the movie screening after an outfit called the Bhartiya Valmiki Dharam Samaj complained that certain dialogues of the movie have offended the community. The shows were reportedly cancelled on orders of Police Commissioner Ishwar Singh and DC Rahul Tewari. [caption id=“attachment_754951” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Shoout At Wadala: Film poster](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/shootout-at-wadala1.jpg) Shoout At Wadala: Film poster[/caption] The group complains that in one dialogue, an actor has used wrong language for Valmikiji by saying har chor valmiki nahi hota and has also expressed objections to another dialogue in which John Abraham says Eklavya ne angutha dia tha, main poora haath de dunga. “Once these are censored, we have no objection to the movie,” Deepak Hans, President of Dr Ambedkar Ekta Mission told Indian Express. The group has sent legal notices to producer of the film, Ekta Kapoor, and director Sanjay Gupta. “They should think twice before saying anything against Valmikiji,”  Laxman Dravid- National Director of the community said.
