Shahid Kapoor's mother Neelima Azeem shares her joy at becoming a grandmom

Mumbai: Actor Shahid Kapoor’s mother Neelima Azeem says she always wanted a granddaughter and feels absolutely blessed as her first grandchild is a girl.

“This is the first baby. I am a new grandmother. This is a new phase and I can’t explain how it feels like. I really wanted a granddaughter, so I am absolutely thrilled and I feel so blessed. I have two sons and now I have a granddaughter,” Neelima told IANS.

Shahid and his wife Mira Rajput were blessed with a daughter on Friday evening. The actor even took to Twitter to share the news with his fans and friends.

She has arrived and words fall short to express our happiness. Thank you for all your wishes.

Neelima said: “I thank everybody for their wishes and support. Both mother and daughter are doing fine and my granddaughter looks absolutely gorgeous. Their parents are so happy. It’s the fourth generation.”
