Shah Rukh Khan thanks Aamir for suggesting his name for Rakesh Sharma biopic: He said the role would suit me
'Whenever I get the time, I will try and spend time with Rakesh Sharma,' says Shah Rukh Khan.

Shah Rukh Khan, who will play Rakesh Sharma in the biopic of the astronaut, thanked Aamir Khan for recommending his name for the project.
In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, the actor said, “I thank Aamir, who was to do the film, for calling me and telling me about the role as it would suit me. Whenever I get the time, I will try and spend time with him (Rakesh Sharma).”
Aamir had said earlier that he suggested SRK's name for the biopic as he thought his contemporary would be an apt choice for the film, tentatively titled Saare Jahan Se Achha. He said to PTI, "It is a great script. I loved the script and the story of Mr Sharma is fascinating. It is true that I called up Shah. I said, 'Shah you should hear the script, it is fantastic. It will be right for you, if you like it.'"
As per Mid-Day, SRK is gearing for the shooting of the film on the former Indian Air Force pilot, scheduled to begin in February. The film was earlier slated to go on floors in May 2018, but now both producer Siddharth Roy Kapur and SRK intend to begin shooting by February to wrap the main schedule up before summer, since certain scenes are required to be filmed outdoors, and filming while wearing bulky costumes during summers would be impossible. The film will be majorly shot in the Goregaon Film City in Mumbai.
