Shah Rukh Khan confirms Raees trailer will release on 7 December simultaneously in nine cities
Shah Rukh Khan will address his fans in nine cities through a live chat during the Raees trailer launch.
The details of the release of Raees trailer are finally out.
The film is slated to release on the last Friday of January but the trailer has not been released yet, though a small teaser was released last year. The teaser evoked excitement among the fans who were eagerly awaiting and speculating the release of the teaser.
Hindustan Times reports that the trailer will be released in nine Indian cities on 7 December. To add to the buzz, the lead actor Shah Rukh Khan will address his fans in these cities through video conferencing.
The nine cities handpicked by Khan will be Delhi, Indore, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, Moga (Punjab) and Ahmedabad, where portions of the film have been shot. The film is based on the life of underworld don Abdul Latif who operated in the city of Ahmedabad.
The fans across the length and breadth of the country will get to witness the trailer and a bonus live chat with Khan next month, and deservedly so. They have been eagerly waiting for the trailer which was originally scheduled to be released on 2 November, Khan’s birthday. Since Khan spent his birthday in Alibaug, the trailer launch could not materialise.
Then there were reports that the trailer will be attached to Khan’s film Dear Zindagi, which is slated to release on 25 November. However, in a report by DNA, Khan denied the plan and added that the makers will release it in December through a unique marketing plan.
Last month, the trailer of Aditya Chopra’s Befikre was released via a live event held at Paris.
What remains to be seen is how the marketing plan of the Raees trailer launch will impact the film, after it was consciously decided to postpone its release. Meanwhile, Rakesh Roshan released the trailer of Kaabil, the Hrithik Roshan starrer scheduled to clash with Raees at the box office, almost a month ago.
Raees stars Shah Rukh Khan, Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. It is directed by Rahul Dholakia and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Excel Entertainment. The film is slated to release on 26 January 2017.
