From the makers of Pyaar Ke Side Effects comes Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar’s new film, Shaadi Ke Side Effects and as the title suggests, it’s about what happens to the promises of living happily ever after once you’re a married couple. However, if the trailer is any indication, the film should have been titled, Parenthood Ke Side Effects. After the birth of their first child, Sid (sleep-deprived, sex-deprived and constantly irritated) and Trisha (sleep deprived, wannabe-Supermom and romance-deprived) find their relationship changes drastically. In the process of trying to intuit what Mili is feeling — “Usse garmi lag rahi hai… usse thand lag rahi hai… usse bhook lag rahi hai” — they turn a blind eye to the adults’ feelings. The solution to this problem, as Ram Kapoor tells Akhtar’s Sid is to lie a little now and then. Lying, however, comes with its own complications and misunderstandings. Still, it does serve to spice up their lives, as the trailer shows. Akhtar and Balan are well-cast as the couple and who knows, maybe they’ve incorporated what they’ve picked up from their real-life marriages for this reel-life story. Fingers crossed that the film will is as funny and engaging as the trailer. Shaadi Ke Side Effects is directed by Saket Chaudhary whose first film was Pyar ke Side Effects. The film will hit the screens on 14 February, 2014. Watch the trailer of the film here:
