Actress Kim Cattrall recently vented her anger at former Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker, saying she was not her friend.

The two had reportedly been at odds since filming the show together, with the demise of any prospects for a third Sex and the City film bringing the animosity back to the surface, reports

Sex and the City row: Kim Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker have completely contrasting views on their alleged feud

A still from Sex and the City.

Cattrall took to Instagram to vent her anger on Saturday.

"I don't need your love or support at this tragic time Sarah Jessica Parker," she posted. In the caption, she called Parker a "hypocrite" and "cruel".

She said: "Let me make this very clear. (If I haven't already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I'm writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl' persona."

Cattrall was referring to the recent death of her brother Chris Cattrall, which Parker discussed at the Paley Centre for media's An Evening With the Cast of Divorce in New York on Thursday.

Parker had also left a message of condolence on Cattrall's Instagram post announcing her brother's passing, as had Cynthia Nixon, one of Cattrall and Parker's other Sex and the City co-stars.

On Instagram, Cattrall also linked to a New York Post article from October titled 'Inside the mean-girls culture that destroyed Sex and the City'.

In the article, a clique that excluded Cattrall is described as having been formed on the sets of Sex and the City, particularly after creator and producer Darren Star left and Parker's friend Michael Patrick King took over, which led to Cattrall's reluctance to participate in the first Sex and the City film.

According to recent reports however, Parker believes her public feud with her former Sex and the City co-star Kim Cattrall has been "completely fabricated".

Parker, who essayed Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, addressed the controversy surrounding the film and show by the same name after the plug was pulled on a third movie.

"I never talked about it, except to say that some of us were disappointed about the movie not happening," Parker told

"But I never responded to the conversation Kim had with Piers Morgan (show host), where she said things that were really hurtful about me. We had this experience and it was amazing and nothing will ever be like it."

She insisted that they had a connection with an audience, the city and their crew.

"We got to tell these crazy stories with each other. So I don't want to mess with that.

"I couldn't imagine anyone else playing that part. There was no fight; it was completely fabricated, because I actually never responded. And I won't, because she needed to say what she needed to say, and that is her privilege," she said.
