Satish Kaushik to lend voice for Om Puri in his last movie Mr Kabaadi

Late veteran actor Om Puri had been one of the most prolific figures in the Indian film industry. Starting from his early films like Aakrosh (1980), Ardh Satya (1983) to his most recent The Ghazi Attack (2017) and Tubelight (2017), he has left an indelible mark in the hearts of millions of his fans and admirers. [caption id=“attachment_3305310” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Om Puri[/caption] His untimely death last year, in 2016, took everyone by surprise. He had many projects lined up for release as well as in production stage. One of them is Mr Kabaadi which is being helmed by Puri’s ex-wife Seema Kapoor; the film will also mark her directorial debut. According to a report by The Times of India, Om Puri, apart from acting, has also done a voice-over in the film as its narrator. Before he passed away, Puri had finished shooting for his scenes. But the voice-over part was incomplete. Kapoor has now decided to alter the script a bit in order to rope in a new narrator. Actor-director Satish Kaushik will don the cap of Puri in the film. Kaushik, confirmed the news to TOI, saying, “Om Puri was a dear friend. We have struggled together as actors and I have seen his growth. This film is special to me for that very reason. Seemaji is like a sister to me and it’s an honour to be offered this part. I’ve finished dubbing, but it wasn’t easy as matching up to Om can never be easy.”
