Sara Ali Khan's Dharma debut back on track: Has Saif's daughter bagged a film with Hrithik Roshan?

Karan Johar’s banner Dharma Productions seems to be on a career-launching spree. It was announced last month that Johar will launch Jhanvi Kapoor , the daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, possibly in the remake of the Marathi blockbuster Sairat. [caption id=“attachment_3153894” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Sara Ali Khan[/caption] Now, Pune Mirror reports that Johar will launch another industry kid — Sara Ali Khan, the daughter of Saif Ali Khan from his first marriage with fellow actor Amrita Singh. The comedy drama featuring Sara will be directed by Karan Malhotra, in which she will be seen opposite Hrithik Roshan. Malhotra is also a Dharma product as he made his directorial debut under Johar’s banner with the revenge drama Agneepath in 2012, with Roshan in the lead role. The director-actor duo were supposed to collaborate again on the period drama Shuddhi before Roshan walked out of the project owing to dates clash with Siddharth Anand’s action comedy Bang Bang. The project was eventually shelved. Interestingly, Malhotra has also worked with Roshan in Ashutosh Gowariker’s period drama Jodha Akbar where he was an assistant director. Several leading ladies have made their debut alongside Roshan, from Ameesha Patel in his first film, Rakesh Roshan’s Kaho Naa Pyar Hai to Pooja Hegde in another Gowariker period drama Mohenjo Daro earlier this year. Sara’s father Saif has also worked with Hrithik in Arjun Sablok’s romantic drama from 2002, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum.  Initially, it was reported that Sara will make her Hindi film debut with Johar’s directorial Student of the Year 2. However, International Business Times reports that she walked out of the film after her mother’s disagreements with Johar. Then, it was reported that she will star in the Hindi remake of Josh Boone’s Fault In Our Stars opposite Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khattar. However, no development has been reported on the same since then. She was also rumoured to be cast opposite Ranveer Singh in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boys but there was no confirmation on the same. Now that she is again reported to debut as a Dharma girl, one can only hope to get a word of confirmation on the same, from either the makers or Sara herself.
