It has been confirmed that Chinese actress and singer Zhu Zhu, whose claim to fame is being a VJ of MTV China, has been signed on to play the part of Salman Khan’s co-star in the film. Kabir Khan’s next film with Salman Khan Tubelight is currently being shot in Ladakh. There has been news and rumours about who will be cast opposite Salman in the film. This has really excited us because we finally have an authentic pairing. Given that Tubelight is set during the Indo-China war, it only made sense to cast a fresh face instead of making an existing actress resemble someone of Chinese descent. Zhu Zhu has previously been a part of films like What Women Want (a Chinese rom com), Shanghai Calling, The Man with the Iron Fists (alongside Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu), and Cloud Atlas among others. She is currently a part of the American TV show Marco Polo which premiered on Netflix in 2014. Zhu Zhu is a part of the same talent management agency that handled Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone’s international careers. She has been learning Hindi for the film, and has been posting some lovely pictures of Leh on her Instagram account:
