Legendary writer and Salman Khan’s father Salim recently opened up about his relationship with two wives, Salma Khan and Helen.
The Sholay & Zanjeer writer said that while earlier it was difficult they finally got along later.
“I’m lucky that I have two wives and that they live in harmony. Never mind if that happened a few years later. My wives are good-looking and now they are ageing gracefully," said Salim while talking to DNA.
In one of the interviews, with Zoom, the veteran writer opened up about he told his first and children about his relationship with Helen. “When I told her, she didn’t shake hands with me and told me what a wonderful thing I was doing. Of course, we had problems, but for a very short time. After that, everything was accepted," he shared.
Speaking about children, Khan said they were too young to understand. “Told them, ‘I have got another person in my life. I have married her. I do not expect anything from you. I don’t expect you to love her as much as you love your mother, but I want you to give her the same respect,’" he added.
“My mother never influenced us to think or say anything against our father. She had her troubles, but she never influenced us to think, ‘Your dad is like this,’ or, ‘This is what he is doing.’ Never," said Arbaaz Khan in one of the episodes of the docu-series Angry Young Men .
Salim Khan has 4 children with Salma Khan - Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Alivira Khan Agnihotri. He married Helen in 1980 and adopted Arpita Khan.
