Manoj Bajpayee and Saif Ali Khan are among the most versatile actors in Bollywood today. While the two of them have worked together in films like LOC: Kargil (2003) and Aarakshan (2011), Saif Ali Khan recently opened up on his experience while working with the Gangs of Wasseypur actor. Recalling a scene with Manoj in their 2011 film, Saif noted how the actor “did not buy” his “underprivileged act” in the film. Saif recalled that it was during a scene where the two were performing together when his character was sharing the pain of being discriminated against due to his caste. The actor continued how Manoj did not buy his “acting” of an underprivileged person, because of his royal lineage. I did a scene with him where I was telling him how I have suffered, I have been so underprivileged in my life. And he was like, after the cut, ‘I don’t buy it for a second’. He’s like ‘Nawab Saab, nahi’.” Apart from this, Saif Ali Khan also recalled a different incident from another of their film i.e., LOC: Kargil. “We were held up in some mountainside with JP (JP Dutta) and I was in his room. I said ‘Have you got anything to drink?’ He said ‘I have this rum and it said Hercules XXX rum which we drank and nearly went blind,” Saif said and added, “I love Manoj .” Talking about Aarakshan, directed by Prakash Jha, the film looks at caste-based reservation and affirmative action in the education system.
