Saif Ali Khan on media frenzy around veteran actor Dharmendra: 'Experienced a situation like this when our father was in the hospital and...'

The legendary and veteran Bollywood actor, Dharmendra, was discharged on Wednesday from the hospital. The 89-year-old actor was admitted there for some tests, which were not disclosed by the family and hospital authorities.

“  Dharmendra  ji was discharged from the hospital around 7:30 am. He will be treated at home as the family has decided to give him home treatment,” Dr Pratit Samdani of Breach Candy hospital, under whom the actor was admitted, told PTI.

In a conversation with News 24 Online, Saif Ali Khan spoke about the media frenzy around the legendary star and revealed, “We experienced a situation like this when Abba was in the hospital. We were constantly fobbing off unwanted attention while dealing with the crisis at hand.”

“There should definitely be laws against such brutal violation of privacy,” he added.

Taking to X, Hema Malini slammed media channels for spreading false news and wrote, “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and recovering? Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.”

After Dharmendra’s discharge from the hospital,  Sunny Deol  shared an update on his health through his team on social media.

Urging everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this time, the note read, “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time.”

“We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you,” read the statement further.
