Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns mints Rs 12.75 cr in the opening weekend

New Delhi: Director Tigmanshu Dhulia, who has directed drama-thriller Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns, has a reason to celebrate. The movie has managed to mint Rs 12.75 crore during its opening weekend. The opening day figure of Saheb Biwi Aur… stood at Rs 3.5 crore, which jumped to Rs 4.25 crore on Saturday and on Sunday the collection reached Rs 5 crore mark, said a statement. The movie is a sequel to 2011 film Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, which was appreciated for its intense script, narration and performances. The sequel stars actors Jimmy Sheirgill and Mahie Gill, who are reprising their roles from the previous film. They are joined by Irrfan and Soha Ali Khan in the cast. The film grew from strength to strength over the weekend as it was supported by strong word of mouth and extremely positive reviews from critics. With its strong direction, dialogues and acting, the movie also created quite a buzz on social media and was trending for three days on Twitter. With a small release in India as well as limited screenings in overseas market, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns  has got one of the best openings for a small film.
