Pankaj Tripathi has commenced shooting for the second season of Sacred Games in South Africa, Mid-day
reports. The versatile actor had a successful 2018 with his performance in Stree , receiving considerable praise. Sacred Games also set new benchmarks in web-series viewing in India in 2018. Featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte among many others, Sacred Games season 1 showed brief portions of Tripathi’s character, who will be dealt with in detail in the second season. Pankaj Tripathi was featured as one of Ganesh Gaitonde’s (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui) ‘masters’. As per sources, Tripathi is scheduled to have a more pivotal and meatier role in the second season. Vikram Chandra’s novel, which was the inspiration behind Sacred Games, places Tripathi’s character as a crucial role. Pankaj will be completing his portions in Cape Town and will then continue shooting in Mumbai for the remaining scenes. Tripathi was also part of Amazon Prime’s
Mirzapur , which saw the actor don the hat of a deadly gangster Kaleen Bhaiya.
