The director of Singham 3, Hari has started works on his next films, Saamy 2, which stars Vikram and Trisha Krishnan. The 2003 original, Saamy, was a raging success and also one the highest grossing Tamil films of that year. The film revolves around an honest cop, DCP Aarusaamy_,_ and it was remake in Hindi, Telugu and Kannada. The team is now reuniting for Saamy 2. Trisha confirmed the news on Twitter:
“Vikram and I are coming together for Saamy 2. We had plans of doing it much earlier but things somehow didn’t fall in place (then),” Hari had told reporters during the audio launch of their last film, Iru Mugan in 2016, reports PTI. In Saamy 2, Vikram will return as the foul-mouthed police officer and the role was loved by the masses. Saamy was produced by late legendary filmmaker K Balachander. The movie redefined Vikram’s image as a mass hero. The film is expected to be released sometime this year. (With inputs from agencies)
