Saaho: Sonam Kapoor was reportedly first choice for leading lady, not Anushka Shetty
It is reported that Sonam Kapoor was the first choice as the female protagonist in Prabhas starrer Saaho.
After playing the titular role in the Baahubali franchise, Prabhas' next is an ambitious high-tech action drama titled Saaho. There was ample speculation over which actress would star in the lead opposite Prabhas, until it was finally confirmed that none other than his Baahubali co-star Anushka Shetty would be cast opposite him.

It is now being said that Sonam Kapoor was the first choice for a leading lady in Sujeeth's directorial venture, according to a DNA report.
It is also being speculated that there was a long list of actresses that the director ran through before settling in on Shetty namely — Shraddha Kapoor, Pooja Hegde and Disha Patani, however various reasons cause each of these castings to fall through, according to the same DNA report.

Neil Nitin Mukesh has reportedly been roped in to play the negative character against Prabhas in this flick. "Saaho is a larger-than-life film and, post Baahubali, the entire nation is rooting for Prabhas. And where there is a mega hero, there will always be a mega villain too. It's quite an exciting project, Sujeeth has a great vision. Saaho will be the biggest action film of 2018," said Mukesh.
According to a earlier Firstpost report, the film's plot unfolds in Mumbai. As per the film's schedule, a minor part will be shot in June-July in Mumbai. Apparently, the director of the film, Sujeeth wants to shoot the action scenes on Mumbai roads during the monsoons.
International stuntman Kenny Bates, popular for his work on films such as Die Hard and Transformers, has been brought on board.
The movie has music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. While Sabu Cyril will take care of production design, Madhie will crank the camera.
