Saaho: Baahubali star Prabhas reportedly receives three times Shraddha Kapoor's fee for the film
Baahubali star Prabhas's next project Saaho has generated a lot of interest, with speculations about Anushka Shetty or Shraddha Kapoor being chosen as the leading lady making the rounds. Now, it has been confirmed that Kapoor has been cast in the film, and she will reportedly be paid Rs 4 crore for her role, reports Hindustan Times.
The other contenders for this role were Katrina Kaif and Pooja Hegde, but Kapoor was finally chosen. The film is a bilingual which will be shot in Telugu and Hindi, and the makers did not hesitate to invest in her because of her fan following in Bollywood.
However, Pinkvilla reports that she will receive Rs 9 crore, which was a result of negotiations with the makers. Apparently, Kapoor initially wanted Rs 12 crore as the film's shoot will be taxing and won't allow her to work on other projects, but later settled for Rs 3 crore less.
Speculations about Prabhas' salary, too, have emerged. The same Pinkvilla report quotes an unverified source saying, "...Prabhas will take the 30 crores as remuneration and more than triple of what Shraddha is getting today! Saaho will be shot in Mumbai, Abu Dhabi and Romania and every character in the film has many shades but Prabhas himself will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar and will be seen doing lots of modern-day action and will be undergoing training. His role is completely different from Baahubali. Post that he’s also raised his market price from Rs. 25 crore to 30 crore (approx) and deservingly so."
If these speculations are confirmed, it will mean that Prabhas will earn roughly three times as much as his co-star Kapoor, which is a considerable disparity.
Directed by Sujeeth, Saaho will be made with an extravagant budget of over Rs 150 crore. This film will see Prabhas in an action role, sporting a clean shaven look. Reportedly, Vijay will play a pivotal role in the film.
The music of the film will be composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and Madhie is responsible for the cinematography.
Neil Nitin Mukesh has been cast as the antagonist of the film. "Saaho is a larger-than-life film and, post Baahubali, the entire nation is rooting for Prabhas. And where there is a mega hero, there will always be a mega villain too. My character has many shades like every other character in the film. It’s quite an exciting project, Sujeeth has a great vision. Saaho will be the biggest action film of 2018," he said.
Saaho has already gone on the floors, and Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhas are expected to begin shooting for it in late August. The film is slated to release in 2018.
