Rustom, Mohenjo Daro box office collections: Akshay's film rules, Hrithik's film plays catch up

Despite the box office clash between Rustom and Mohenjo Daro, Akshay Kumar's film is raking in the numbers this Independence Day weekend.

By Saturday morning, 13 August, it was already confirmed that Rustom was the fourth highest opener in 2016. Meanwhile, Mohenjo Daro had an average opening and needs to climb over the weekend to match up to Rustom.

On Day two, Rustom witnessed a 16 % growth rate raking in Rs 30 crore, and trade analysts are already predicting Rs 100 for the film, given it had two big days (Sunday and Independence Day) for collections.

Meanwhile, Mohenjo Daro managed about Rs 9.5 crore on Day two, according to this Indian Express report, and is expected to make about Rs 10 crore on Sunday.

Even outside of India, Akshay Kumar's film is doing better than Hrithik's. Rustom raked in Rs, 8.30 crore on its opening day globally, where as Mohenjo Daro managed about Rs. 6.82 crore, reports IBT.

The litmus test for both films will be on Tuesday, and it also remains to be seen while films stays in theatres longest.
