Rohit Khandelwal, a 26-year-old model from Hyderabad has officially become the first Indian — and Asian — to have won the ‘Mr World’ title. The actor, who has appeared on shows like Pyar Tune Kya Kiya, Yeh Hai Aashiqui and MTV’s Big F believes it is his fan’s good wishes that have got him so far. Khandelwal battled it out with 46 other contestants at the grand ceremony on 19 July 2016 at Southport, UK and wore a tuxedo designed by Nivedita Saboo. He received a cash prize of $50,000 on winning the title. Here’s the winner with first runner up Mr Puerto Rico and second runner up, Mr Mexico.
Rohit had previously won the titles of Mr Provogue Personal Care in 2015, which propelled him towards his goal of acting in Bollywood films. Along with winning the Mr World title, he also won the titles of Mr World Multimedia, Mr World Talent, Mobstar People’s Choice Awards and Mr World Sports Event and won the sub-title of Mr Multimedia.
