London: Robert Downey Jr walked out of an Avengers: Age of Ultron promotional interview when asked about his “dark” period. In a video tweeted out by British journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy, who describes it as “a steely moment from Ironman”, the actor is seen getting increasingly uncomfortable as he is asked about his relationship with his father, jail time and past drug addiction. As he left the room, Downey Jr told Guru-Murthy, “It’s just getting a little Diane Sawyer in here,” while a fumbling Guru-Murthy tries to stop him by saying, “Look, I don’t want to do that…” Guru-Murthy also had a clash with filmmaker Quentin Tarantino two years ago during the promotions of Django Unchained, where the latter told him, “I’m going to shut your butt down.” According to this Guardian report, when Guru-Murthy insisted on speaking about an interview Downey Jr gave in 2008 about whether he is a liberal or not, Downey Jr. said, “Are we promoting a movie?” He then responded by saying, “I was talking to the person who was doing the interview that day, and that just happened to be my opinion. That’s the nice thing, you can have opinions and they kind of change and flow.” Guru-Murthy later tweeted out the video of the interview.
