Born as Abhas Kumar Ganguly, Kumar started his career as an actor in Shikari (1946) and the first ever song he sung was “Marne ki duayen kyon mangu” for the film Ziddi (1948). He went on to star and sing in highly famous films like Musafir, Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, and Padosan. The rest, as they say, is history.
