Ratan Tata’s Bollywood connection: Did you know he briefly entered the film industry with THIS Amitabh Bachchan starrer

Apart from being a dog lover, the beloved industrialist & philanthropist Ratan Tata was also a movie lover. In fact, he once co-produced a film titled Aetbaar, which featured Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham and Bipasha Basu in prominent roles.

Directed by Vikram Bhatt, Ratan Tata co-produced the romantic psychological thriller with Jatin Kumar under the banner of Tata BSS. Inspired by the 1996 Hollywood film Fear, Aetbaar was inspired by the 1996 Hollywood film Fear and explored the dark realities of romantic obsession. While the performances of the ensemble was praised, the film failed to impress the audience and the box office.

Several celebs including Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Salman Khan, Kamal Haasan, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Ajay Devgn and others share their condolences on social media.

“ Ratan Tata Ji was a personal hero of mine, someone I’ve tried to emulate throughout my life. A national treasure whose contributions in nation-building shall forever be etched in the story of modern India. His true richness lay not in material wealth but in his ethics, integrity, humility and patriotism. In the immediate aftermath of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, I met him while staying at the iconic Taj Hotel. In that moment of national crisis, the titan stood tall and became the embodiment of the Indian spirit, to rebuild and emerge stronger as a nation. My profound condolences to his family, friends, Tata Group and my fellow Indians,” Kamal Haasan wrote on X.

On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan penned, “An era has just passed away… his humility, his great resolve, his vision, and his determination to accomplish the very best for the nation, ever a pride… It was my greatest honour to have had an opportunity and privilege to work together towards common humanitarian causes… A very sad day… my prayers.”

“I will never forget our meeting in London few years back. When you very kindly said to me,” Mr. Kher! I like your comedy! You make me laugh!” Thank you for every lesson Mr. Tata! You taught me how to live with values and principles of life! You will always remain my most favourite G.O.A.T. Jai Ho!” Anupam Kher wrote on X.
