Ranveer Singh's Parisian connection — Is Padmavati going to have a special release in Paris?
Sanjay Bansali’s Padmavati, which was first performed as a stage play in Paris in 9 years ago, may see a special release in the French capital.
The entire plan for the international release is not yet chalked out, but it has already been touted to be a huge one, reports DNA.
A close source from SLB’s production house, has revealed “Devdas had one of the biggest ever releases in Paris for an Indian film. Padmavati, which is a familiar tale to the Parisians, thanks to the opera staged in 2008, will be released on an even bigger scale.”
Initially the plan was to dub this epic film in French for the Parisian release. But later this move was rejected as it could have damaged the film’s mood and flavour. If all goes according to plan, the Parisian version of Padmavati would have French subtitles.
Another interesting part is Ranveer Singh, the notorious villain in Padmavati, has a special connection with Paris as he shot for Aditya Chopra’s Befikre in the French city.
The trailer of the much awaited Padmavati is already out. The ovation has been quite thundering and deafening. An elated filmmaker Bhansali claimed, "It's been a journey of great stress and awakening. I've given my blood sweat and tears to Padmavati . Now when people have given their approval in such a big way I am overwhelmed and anxious. The feedback is humbling. I hope the film lives up to all the heightened expectations."
The director, as we have seen in the past with many of his films, has had everyone from Amitabh Bachchan to Rekha congratulating his brilliant work. Even filmmakers like Karan Johar and S S Rajamouli have come forward to show their admiration for the Padmavati trailer.
