Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor unite for Koffee With Karan: Here's what they should talk about
Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh will share the couch on Koffee With Karan. The episode can go two ways: awkward or lots of fun.
It is like a casting coup on the couch. Filmmaker Karan Johar has managed to rope in both Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh to share the couch on his infamous show Koffee With Karan.
What makes this combination interesting is not only the fact that they are contemporaries but also that they have dated Deepika Padukone at some point in their lives.
While Singh is currently in a relationship with Padukone, Kapoor is her ex. However, both Kapoor and Padukone are on good terms as they worked in two films, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Tamasha after they parted ways.
Not only Padukone, but Kapoor shares a good equation even with Singh, at least in public. Both of them have been seen bonding like buddies in parties or during the promotions of Tamasha.
In fact, a picture with Padukone, Kapoor and Singh posing in the same frame, went quite viral on social media.
Johar is known for asking tough, and pretty personal, questions to his guests on the show. In the last season, he poked Ranbir’s cousin Kareena Kapoor Khan until she revealed that Ranbir was dating Katrina Kaif, much to the embarrassment of Ranbir who had kept the relationship under wraps.
Now that Johar has worked with Ranbir in Bombay Velvet and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, he is likely to get even more personal with the controversial actor.
On the other hand, Singh has been open about his relationship with Padukone all along. Given the live-wire he is, it will be interesting to watch him dish out some more candid confessions. To return the favour, Kapoor has also worked with Anushka Sharma recently, who is reportedly Singh’s ex.
So suffice it to say, there's much to talk about. Common interests, films done together and common friends.
Apart from their personal lives, they are also competing with each other professionally for films, endorsements and at the box office. To see them together on the small screen is sure to remind the viewers of the instance when Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan reunited on Big Boss 9 or when Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi danced on each other’s songs on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 5.
As the two leading actors prep up for their shoot on 15 November, we shall sit on our couch and keep our eyes glued to the small screen and wait for the historic episode to come on air.
Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to share a glimpse of the song, and wrote, “nothing short of a celebration when Sooryavanshi, Singham and Simmba come together”.
Sharing the video on his Twitter account, the former Indian batsman wrote that 'Heads, I'm fashionable. Tails, I'm still fashionable'
One Mic Stand writers room on making stand-up sets for celebrities, and training them to be 'losers' on stage
"When you're doing stand-up, you have to believe that you're not the most important person in the room. That's what we have to explain to the celebrities. Some get it easily, but for some, it's a struggle," says Dhruv Deshpande from the writers room of One Mic Stand.
