Ranveer Allahbadia, who faced severe criticism and landed in legal trouble due to his lewd joke in India’s Got Latent, spoke about his ’low phase’ in the last few months while talking to Emraan Hashmi in his TRS podcast.
The actor, who arrived to promote his movie Ground Zero, told Allahbadia, “Everyone knows it", referring to the controversy earlier this year.
“When your chips are down, you really find out who your true friends are. Everyone else quietly slips away. And then you’re left with the people who truly matter. They are the ones who support you when you’re down. Those are your real friends," Emraan said.
Another controversy for Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina
A plea was filed by SMA Cure Foundation accusing the comedians for their crude jokes and Supreme Court has reacted to the same.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi said, “Apology you tendered before the court, give the same before your social media too.”
“Humor is well taken and is a part of life. We laugh at ourselves. But when we start laughing at others and create a breach of sensibility…on a community plane, when humor is generated, it becomes problematic.”
The bench of judges continued, “And this is what so-called influencers of today should bear in mind. They are commercializing speech. The community at large should not be utilized to hurt the sentiments of certain sections. It’s not only freedom of speech, it’s commercial speech.”
Now, in a statement given to police, Ranveer said that it was his mistake that he crossed the line and he should not have said that.
“I am a friend of Samay Raina. That is why I went to that show. It was my mistake to say the line which has caused controversy. I should not have said that,” said Ranveer to the police in his statement as per ABP News.
