Rani Mukerji shares a letter on daughter Adira's first birthday; says motherhood's 'tough, special'

It felt like yesterday when actor Rani Mukerji and filmmaker Aditya Chopra had given birth to a daughter whom they named Adira, an amalgamation of the prefixes of their names. Adira is a year old now and to celebrate the occasion, Mukerji took to Twitter to share her experience of nurturing a daughter. She posted a picture with her daughter along with a message written in a cute font and indigo colour. Apart from expressing her gratitude to the almighty for blessing her with a daughter, she also shared her experience of giving birth to Adira. She said that a year after giving birth to her daughter, she has realized on introspection how her daughter has given birth to a new Rani. “I let everyone and anyone say things to me without me reacting…sometimes reacting also.. I’ve become much calmer.. more patient.. and more forgiving.. It happened overnight one day suddenly.. I realised I have changed.. again for the better I guess,” she said. Mukerji also stated how challenging it is to grow a baby up. “Having a baby is so scary.. you suddenly stop living for yourself.. you live for your child.. I can’t sleep at night.. I can’t get sleep in the day.. I often think about the zillions of mothers who have given birth.. Do they go through the same anxiety? Or is it only me? I salute all mothers!” She also vowed to raise Adira with all her heart invested. She said she wants her child to be brave yet well-mannered. She wants her to follow her heart without being bullied by anyone. “Be carefree always.. happy and smiling.. laughing wholeheartedly.. her smile reaching her eyes..” Given the doting mother that Mukerji is and the Befikre father Chopra is, Adira is sure to be carve her life on her own terms.
