Ranbir Kapoor reports back to the Jagga Jasoos sets in Mumbai; Firstpost gets the pics
The Jagga Jasoos shoot was resumed in Mumbai over the weekend, And Firstpost's photographer was on hand to document Ranbir Kapoor on location, with director Anurag Basu.
After several false starts and delays — and the high profile breakup of its lead pair, Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor — the shoot of Anurag Basu's spy caper Jagga Jasoos is finally back on track.
News reports had said that both Ranbir and Katrina were reporting back to the sets, and that film's current schedule (possibly its last) would be in Mumbai itself.
Even as Katrina shared an image of her look in the film on Facebook over the weekend, we got one better.
Firstpost's photographer Sachin Gokhale was stationed at Byculla since he received news that Ranbir would be on location for the Jagga Jasoos shoot.
Having waited several hours, some of that time in Sunday afternoon's downpour, Gokhale finally spotted Ranbir emerging from his vanity van.
While Ranbir's bouncer/bodyguard caught sight of Gokhale and tried to shoo him away, the photographer kept on the actor's trail and one long walk and a feint later, saw just where Ranbir was headed.
Ranbir — in his Jagga Jasoos costume — was on the grounds of the St Mary School in Byculla. A few other artistes were on the shoot location as well.
All of them seemed to be in a school uniform, sporting the same blazer. But why Ranbir was also wearing the same jacket isn't clear. Was he trying to pass off as a student?
Director Anurag Basu was busy calling the shots and putting his actors through their paces.
Incidentally, Basu said in a previous interview that the delays in Jagga Jasoos were not because of his star cast.
Rather, he said the film was always meant to be made at a somewhat slow pace, and that his intention had been to pick up the pace and release the film once Ranbir was done with Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is scheduled to release on 28 October, in time for Diwali this year.
Jagga Jassos, on the other hand, seems to have zeroed in on a fresh (and hopefully, final) release date in April 2017.
Will Ranbir and Katrina's film meet its new deadline?
