Jagga Jasoos first look: Ranbir Kapoor's 'cute' avatar is well-timed with Children's Day
In the Jagga Jasoos first look Kapoor captures the innocence and unadulterated joy attached with one’s childhood and college days aptly.
Filmmaker Anurag Basu’s film Jagga Jasoos has been in the news since the cast was announced years ago. The shooting of the film has been going for months now and the hype has never ceased, given the fact that the lead actors of the film, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are ex-lovers.
While Kapoor is not active on any social media platform, Kaif often takes to Twitter to post stills from the sets. On the occasion of Children’s Day, the makers, UTV Motion Pictures revealed an official exclusive still from the film.

The still shows an ecstatic Kapoor dance without any inhibitions. What makes the unveiling relevant on Children’s Day is the setting of the still. Dressed in a school or college uniform, Kapoor’s classmates are cheering him on as he dances, in what comes across as that of a hostel.
The still also holds an eerie resemblance to the song Hawan Karenge from Bhag Milkha Bhag in which Farhan Akhtar was seen dancing on an impromptu number with fellow defence aspirants who cheered him on.
What Kapoor’s still captures effectively is the innocence and unadulterated joy attached with one’s childhood and college days. Thus, the release of the still could not have been opportune.
Jagga Jasoos is the second collaboration of Basu and Kapoor, who earned a lot of accolades from their last film Barfi. After a series of flops, Kapoor has seemed to regain the momentum with the success of his recent film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. On the other hand, Kaif’s last two films Baar Baar Dekho and Fitoor bombed at the box office. It will be interesting to see the two combine their energies yet again after Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Rajneeti.
According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, Jagga Jasoos is slated to release on 7 April 2017.
