Rana Daggubati to play Indian National Army soldier in upcoming bilingual 1945

After delivering three box office successes, Rana Daggubati is now prepping up for his next project, a pre-Partition era film titled 1945. The Baahubali actor tweeted out a map of old British India and said that he is currently shooting for its second major schedule.

According to a Times of India report, 1945 will be a bilingual film where Rana will be seen playing a soldier from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Indian National Army. The film will also focus on the Azad Hind Fauj’s contribution to India’s freedom. Sources also said that the movie will have war sequences, which will only add to Rana’s ‘war star’ image. Regina has been cast opposite Rana in the movie. She will play a girl from Chettiar. “It’s a period film set in the 1940s at the height of the Indian Freedom Struggle. Rana plays an Indian National Army soldier who fights for his country. I play a Chettiar girl who is supposed to get married to Rana,” Regina told TOI. This film will be directed by Satyasiva. Apart from the plot of the movie, what caught the attention of Rana’s fans is his new look. The actor recently posted a picture on Instagram and wrote, “Team Vijay and Jaipal working on one of the looks in the film!! This is WIP!! #1945.”
