Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma aka RGV known for making movies like Raat, Shiva, Rangeela, Satya, Company, Sarkar and others, has urged stars to protest against Allu Arjun’s arrest in Pushpa 2 stampede case. While the actor was initially sent to 14-day judicial custody, he was later granted interim bail for four weeks.

Comparing the incident to a similar tragedy involving late actress Sridevi, he questioned Telangana police and added, “3 people died in the lakhs of crowd who came to see SRIDEVI in the shooting of my film KSHANA KSHANAM ..So will the #TelanganaPolice now go to #HEAVEN to ARREST #sridevi ???"

At the press conference held last Saturday, the Icon star said, “We’re extremely sorry for the family and I will personally be there to support them in whatever way possible. It was purely accidental. I was inside a cinema theatre watching a film with my family and an accident happened outside. It’s purely of no direct connection to me. It’s purely accidental, purely unintentional. My love and sympathies are genuinely there with the family and I will be there to support them in whatever way possible."
