Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani is all set to direct Sanjay Dutt yet again. But this time, it’s a little different from their ventures together on the Munnabhai franchise.
A Mumbai Mirror report states that Hirani, at the request of the Yerwada jail superintendent, Yogesh Desai, will be supervising the play Teemiratun…Tejakade (From darkness to light) to be performed by twenty jail inmates at Bal Gandharva Auditorium on 26 September. And staring in the play will be none other than actor Sanjay Dutt.
According to the Mumbai Mirror report, Dutt performs a one-act skit within the play, and two dance numbers as well. The play reportedly deals with topics ranging from alcoholism to Gandhism. The song from Lage Raho, their second Munnabhai film, Bande mein tha dum, has also been incorporated in the play directed by Rahul Solapurkar.
“Even though he gave Hirani’s name, the star, all unshaven and broody, was surprised to see his old friend on Tuesday and became teary-eyed as Raju got in the director’s chair,” reported the Times of India .
