Rajinikanth's Kaala: Crew member gets electrocuted on sets of Pa Ranjith's film

Superstar Rajinikanth’s 164th film Kaala has been hit with a massive blow. As the movie was completing its second schedule of shooting in Chennai, tragedy struck in the worst of ways. All that we know is he was helping in setting up the elaborate set when he came in contact with a short-circuit wire as high voltage current was passing through it, as reported by chitramala.in. The man was taken to the hospital, however the doctors declared him dead soon thereafter, according to the same report Rajinikanth started the shoot of his Pa Ranjith directed Kaala, for son-in-law Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films in Mumbai from on 28 May. The film is being shot at actual locations in Mumbai, like Dharavi. The story is about a man from Tirunelveli who comes to Mumbai and unites the local Tamils, and later goes on to become a Robin Hood-like figure. The reports states that the story is very much _Nayagan-_meets-Kabali — and that it could be a launch pad for Rajinikanth’s political career. Kaala has an impressive star cast comprising of National Award winning Tamil actor-director Samuthirakani, who plays Rajinikanth’s chief henchman. The female actors incude Huma Qureshi, Eashwari Rao and Anjali Patil. Ranjith has also roped in some of the finest Marathi actors like Nana Patekar, Sayaji Shinde, Ravi Kale, Pankaj Tripathi, Mikhi Mikija and south Indian supporting actors Sampath, Aruldas, Aravind Akash, ‘Vathikuchi’ Deepan, Ramesh Thilak, Manikandan and Velu along with hundreds of other junior artistes for the movie. Actor Pankaj Tripathi has also been roped in for the role of a policeman in the movie which features his 'idol' . Kaala is set to hit the theaters in 2018.
