Raid song Sanu Ek Pal Chain, featuring Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz, celebrates Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's voice
Raid will see Ajay Devgn, Ileana D'Cruz together for the second time after the 2017 film Baadshaho.
Ajay Devgn's upcoming film Raid, directed by Raj Kumar Gupta (of No One Killed Jessica, Ghanchakkar fame) promises to be yet-another gripping tale. This time, Gupta ventures into the India of 1980s when cases of income tax raids were mushrooming in various parts of the country. The gritty thriller-drama features Devgn along with his Baadshaho co-star Ileana D'Cruz.
Breaking the serious tone of the film, latest song of the film 'Sanu Ek Pal Chain' celebrates love and romance between the characters of Devgn and D'Cruz. Voiced by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, this song is reminiscent of the original classic sung by Rahat's uncle and legendary singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
Although the original song has been remade numerous times, as covers by various artists and in many live shows, the Raid song sounds contemporary. It reminds one of the same feel and melody of the original composition, yet has been revamped to a slightly upbeat tempo.
The song has been remixed by composer Tanishk Bagchi and written by Manoj Muntashir. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, Raid is set against the backdrop of the 1980s. With Devgn playing the lead, the movie revolves around a famous income tax raid in UP and is thus based on real life incidents.
Raid is all set to hit the theatres on 16 March, 2018.
"The only time being negative is a good thing," wrote Alia Bhatt, who tested positive for COVID-19 on 2 April and was under home quarantine.
"Does he want the vaccine or does he need it?," Hansal Mehta shared a picture of his 25-year-old son Pallava, who has Down syndrome, and asked why the government isn't opening up vaccination for all citizens.
The police has registered two different accidental death reports in the case.
