Producers Guild of India sign MoU with Producers Guild of America; Siddharth Roy Kapur calls it landmark initiative
On 11 February, Producers Guild of India (PGI) released a press statement declaring they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Producers Guild of America (PGA). This association is initiated to build a strong collaborative system of assistance between the film, television and new media sectors of India and United States of America.
According to the agreement, PGI and PGA will share best practices in production, shooting and promotion, so as to enhance the growth of entertainment sectors in India and the US. The statement also read that both countries will initiate exchange of visits between delegations of both guilds to evolve opportunities for better dialogue and understanding.
Siddharth Roy Kapur, president of PGI expressed his views over the association and said, "The MoU will provide an excellent platform for the production and creative fraternities on both sides to share ideas, expertise and best practices, and will also create new avenues for creative collaboration between some of the most talented and experienced minds from both these industries”. He further added that this alliance will be a mutually beneficial relationship between the two most prolific entertainment industries in the world.
