After a vibrant _mehendi_ and _sangeet_ ceremony in Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas reportedly solemnised their marriage in a Christian service, officiated by the groom’s father. Soon, the Jodhpur sky was lit up with blinding fireworks to mark the couple’s union. [caption id=“attachment_5641101” align=“alignnone” width=“825”] Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. Image from Facebook[/caption] While ending a wedding ceremony with fireworks, no doubt, is a quintessentially Indian way of saying ‘it’s official’ and ‘congratulations, you did it’, the cracker show does not bode well for Priyanka’s asthma awareness campaign. In September this year, she joined forces with Cipla Respiratory to raise awareness about the disease, its treatment and help minimise the stigma attached to it. Then came her own revelation that she was diagnosed with asthma at age five and had been dependent on her inhaler ever since. But, there was nothing to hide anymore.
Those who know me well know that I'm an asthmatic. I mean, what’s to hide? I knew that I had to control my asthma before it controlled me. As long as I’ve got my inhaler, asthma can’t stop me from achieving my goals & living a #BerokZindagi.

The campaign wasn’t over with that announcement. She went on to encourage people to be mindful of animals and people with respiratory problems and not burn crackers on Diwali. “Celebrate with lights and laddoos instead,” she said in a video:
