Priyanka Chopra confirms severing ties with Nirav Modi days after designer's name surfaced in PNB scam
After the news of diamantaire Nirav Modi's alleged fraudulent transactions broke, his tryst with some Bollywood celebrities have also resurfaced
Priyanka Chopra's team has confirmed that the actress has severed all ties with designer Nirav Modi whose name recently surfaced in the Rs 11,000 crore Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam.
Billionaire diamantaire Nirav Modi, who has been named in PNB's Rs 11,000 cr fraud, has dressed top Bollywood and Hollywood celebrities. However, after the news of his alleged fraudulent transactions broke, his tryst with some Bollywood celebrities have also resurfaced.
The designer's dazzling ad campaigns have also been immensely popular, especially the ones featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Priyanka Chopra. Chopra was signed as the global brand ambassador of the label in January 2017. She went on to do an ad with Malhotra, which went viral on all platforms but soon after, there were reports of Modi not paying Chopra all her dues.
Although Firstpost could not independently verify the news, there have been several reports suggesting that Priyanka's management had alleged that she wasn't paid the amount the two parties had agreed on.
Malhotra, too, is reportedly looking to cut ties with the ace designer as he does not want to harm his image by being associated with Modi, who finds himself mired in a massive cheating case. According to a Mid-Day report, he is not willing to associate with the 'diamond king' till all his charges are dropped. The Aiyaary actor was reportedly supposed to shoot for two more commercials, however, looking at the pace at which the scam is escalating, he might cut the deal short.
Modi's business ventures have usually involved popular Bollywood stars. In 2015, Lisa Haydon and Nimrat Kaur had been chosen to launch the designer's store in New York City. While Haydon for chosen for her international looks, Kaur was picked for her increasing popularity in the West after appearing in Homeland. Hayden went on to shoot for the designer's 2016 collection alongside Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Romanian model Andreea Diaconu.
His creations are sported by top Bollywood actresses such as Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Chitrangda Singh, Shilpa Shetty etc.
Not just Bollywood, the jewellery designer's deluxe collections have been a red-carpet favourite. Numerous Hollywood stars like Taraji P Henson, Karlie Kloss, Kate Upton, Stella Maxwell and Olivia Munn have sported Nirav Modi creations at various high-profile occasions.
Steven Spielberg and Sharon Stone have also bought the jeweller's creations in the past.
Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani to tie the knot at Suryagarh Palace, Jaisalmer, preparations in full swing
Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani were in a relationship for quite some time. The guests expected to grace the wedding are Shahid Kapoor and Karan Johar.
Malhotra brings a sense of mischief to his body language as the twinkled tailor ‘soldered’ spy. He is supposed to play a Hindu Indian soldier masquerading as a Muslim tailor in Pakistani, hence the body language suggests a certain amount of artificial posturing.
