Prince Harry's pre-birthday bash with wife Meghan Markle all about 'locally brewed beer and traditional cuisine'

Royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, also called the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, hogged headlines for marking the former’s pre-birthday celebrations at a German brewery in Dusseldorf on Thursday. Prince Harry, who turns 39 today, 15 September, was accompanied by his bosom friends, making it a close-knit affair as the duo commemorated the occasion with locally brewed beer and traditional cuisine. As per a Daily Mail report, Harry was also presented with a white chocolate cake by the restaurant as his friends sang ‘happy birthday’ along.

Prince Harry’s pre-birthday plans

On Thursday, as part of Prince Harry’s birthday eve, the Duke of Sussex chose Schumacher Brewery in Dusseldorf, Germany called ‘Im Goldenen Kessel’, as an ideal spot for the occasion. Based on reports, Harry alongside Meghan Markle and their companions, reserved two tables at the iconic establishment, savouring the atmosphere and relishing in the festivities.

Hello! magazine while quoting a staff member said that the Duke and Duchess were very welcoming guests and added that the Prince was “very generous, and tipped very well.” Not just this, restaurant owner Thea Ungermann further told the magazine that the couple looked very relaxed and savoured their beer, Schumacher Alt. Ungermann was also quoted as saying that the prince graciously settled the bill, leaving the staff a generous tip.

Head waiter Frank Wackers said that Prince Harry downed six small beers and Meghan Markle opted for a more moderate approach, sipping on one. Some of the dishes relished by the couple, along with their party friends included wiener schnitzel, pork knuckle, sausage, roast, and mashed potatoes.

While Meghan Markle looked beautiful in skinny white trousers paired with a striped shirt and nude flats, the Duke, on the other hand, wore a smart shirt and jeans for the occasion**.**

The outing comes amidst a busy day for the royal couple who were spotted engaging with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) representatives earlier.

Work front

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were last spotted together in a six-part Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, which aired in December. The intimate family series saw Harry making several accusations against his royal family, including a claim that his brother’s communications aides planted negative stories about his wife, Meghan Markle, in the London tabloids.

The Spare author and Suits actress are currently in Dusseldorf for the Invictus Games, an annual international multi-sport event dedicated to wounded, injured, and sick soldiers and veterans. In their first sporting event of the day, the couple watched Ukraine play Nigeria in sitting volleyball.
