Preity-Ness, Salman-Ash and other B-town exes who parted ways on a bitter note
Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia who were once inseparable are today not even on speaking terms. In fact, recently, Zinta has filed an FIR against her ex-beau leveling molestation charges. However, this isn’t the first time that Bollywood has seen relationships between the exes turn sour. Here are some other B-town exes who left things on a bad note.

The Zinta-Wadia romance is till date one of the most high profile relationships of India that grabbed considerable about of media attention. On one hand was a popular Bollywood actress like Preity Zinta and on the other the son of one of the country’s foremost business families, Ness Wadia. They were the toast of Mumbai’s social circuit and the favourites of the paparazzi. The two also owned an IPL team together and although their relationship ended in 2009, the two still own the IPL team together. While the rumour mill has often claimed that post break-up Zinta and Wadia were not on talking terms, there had never been any sign of public resentment until recently when Preity Zinta filed an FIR against her ex-beau levelling charges of molestation. Wadia issued a statement saying, “It is disgusting that she would stoop to this level for media attention.”

Bipasha and John Abraham met on the sets of Jism in 2003 and dated for eight years before parting ways. While Abraham has maintained a dignified silence over the cause of their break-up, Basu had claimed that the split was not amicable and implied that Abraham cheated on her. Not only that, at one point, post break-up, during an interview, she even refused to know Abraham and asked, “Who is John Abraham?”. While Abraham hasn’t commented on the break-up, rumour mill has it that it was Basu who cheated on Abraham and not the other way round. However, after much bitterness, the two have embarked on separate journeys. While Abraham married Priya and settled down, Basu is all set to tie the knot with Harman Baweja.

Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai’s break-up is perhaps the most ugly celebrity splits of all times. The two fell in love on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and although Khan ended his relationship with Pakistani model, Somi Ali to be with Rai, the actress’ parents were dead against the idea of the two dating. Rai soon broke up with Salman Khan but the matter didn’t die down quickly, thanks to Salman Khan’s volatile temper. Reportedly, Khan created a ruckus not only outside Rai’s home but also on the sets of Chalte Chalte. He reportedly slapped Subhash Ghai in a fit of rage and also made a huge scene on the sets of Abhishek Bachchan starrer Kuch Na Kaho. The two have never spoken since the break-up. Aishwarya Rai also claimed that Salman Khan physically abused her during the relationship.

Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan’s union was suppose to bring together two of Bollywood’s biggest families - The Bachchans and the Kapoors. While the two did get engaged on Amitabh Bachchan’s 60th birthday, the wedding never happened for reasons best known to the couple and their families. However, rumour mill has it that Kapoor’s mother Babita was the reason why the wedding was called off. Reportedly, Bachchan’s close family friend at that time, Amar Singh, got a whiff of reports claiming that Kapoor is getting intimate with Sahara chief Subrato Roy. To investigate the truthfulness of this claim he had hired private detectives and had Kapoor followed. However, when Kapoor’s mom came to know about it, she immediately called Bachchan’s mother Jaya. But instead of denying such claims, Jaya Bachchan backed Amar Singh. As a result Babita asked her daughter to break up the engagement.

The romance between Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan is the stuff that Bollywood movies are made of. However, since the release of Silsila in 1981, Bachchan and Rekha have religiously avoided each other in public gatherings and film events. They haven’t done a film together in past three decades. Bachchan and Rekha shared sizzling chemistry onscreen and there were rumours of them being romantically involved off screen as well. While Bachchan has maintained silence on the matter, Rekha has been more candid about their relationship and in several interviews, and also confessed her love for Bachchan. In an interview to BBC, Yash Chopra, who was the last director to work with both the actors together, had said that Bachchan and Rekha were very much in a relationship during the shooting of Silsila.
