Pratyusha Banerjee's former boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh booked in molestation case
Rahul Raj Singh, the former boyfriend of TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, has been booked by the Mumbai police on a molestation charge
Television actress Pratyusha Banerjee's former boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh has found himself in legal trouble yet again.
This time, a case of molestation has been registered against Singh by the Amboli police.
The incident apparently occurred late on Tuesday night, when Singh and a female friend got into a heated argument with a producer and his friend at a suburban pub.
Singh and his friend were apparently on their way out when the other duo walked in, and the scuffle ensued.
The producer's friend then alleged that Singh had assaulted and molested her and filed a complaint with the police.
In the meantime, the woman who was accompanying Singh also lodged a police complaint against the other duo for attacking her.
The spokesperson for the Mumbai Police, DCP Ashok Dudhe, confirmed to the Hindustan Times that the incident had occurred.
The Indian Express quoted an office from the Amboli police station as saying, "We will verify CCTV footage and take statements in the matter. Further investigations are on before arresting anyone."
The FIRs in both cases have been registered under sections 354 (sexual harassment), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapon), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
Rahul Raj Singh was booked by the police for abetting the 1 April 2016 suicide of Pratyusha Banerjee, who became a noted face on the small screen because of her leading role in the TV show Balika Vadhu. Singh is currently out on bail in the case.
