A heated debate recently erupted all over the internet this morning after it was revealed that actress-model Poonam Pandey is still alive, just a day after her death news was confirmed on her social media handle. On Friday, Poonam’s team shared a statement on her Instagram confirming that the actress died at the age of 32 due to cervical cancer. However, Pandey herself refuted the news by sharing fresh posts on Saturday and clarified that the move was taken as a part of a publicity stunt for raising awareness regarding cervical cancer screenings.

With a series of videos shared on her Instagram, Poonam informed her followers of the reason behind the news and cancer awareness campaign. However, this didn’t go well with a large section of people including her fans, followers, celebrities, and even those from the medical community. While many were seen calling out Pandey for the ‘fake death’ stunt, the actress’s close friend Shardul Pandit was also seen lashing out at her on social media.

In a video shared on his Instagram handle, Pandit while mentioning how he broke down upon receiving news of Poonam Pandey’s demise went on to apologise to everyone with whom he fought over the news. Also noting that he loves his friend Poonam Pandey a lot, Shardul asserted that her actions were “not cool”.

“Whoever thought of this campaign, this is not at all cool. There are some things that you cannot touch. You should spread awareness but death is not a joke. I have lost my mother to cancer. This idea was not cool and I am calling out this on social media cause it was done on social media,” he said in the video.
