Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi and Prince William walk into a bar. Sounds like a joke set-up right? Well, not if it’s a karaoke bar. At the Winter White Gala this week, which was held at the Kensington Palace in support of the homeless charity Centrepoint, Prince William decided to join in as the two musicians belted out ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ onstage. Here we can see Taylor Swift making the most of the moment, and as all karaoke demands, making the required contorted facial expressions. Prince William and Taylor Swift here adopt the classic pose required to hit the high notes. While this might be expected of a pop star, Prince William is possibly the first royal to let his hair down like this - whatever’s left of it, of course. Besides this performance, Taylor performed her hits Trouble, Love Story and 15. AFP image[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_1257145” align=“alignleft” width=“940”]
Here we see Taylor go into full rockstar mode, hands in the air and mouth open (an almost Miley tongue-sticking out moment?). Prince William watches on with an abashed smile as Bon Jovi carries on with the song. According to one guest, the prince almost treated everyone to a bit of Miley-style twerking too. Olivia Sabat, 22, who was also performing at the gala told The Mirror: “He was like: ‘would it put you off if I was dancing?’ and I said ’no, I want you to listen - dancing and listening’. “And the prince said ‘yeah that’s fine’ and then he started doing a little twerking. “I said ’no thanks, no twerking thanks’.” AFP image[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_1257147” align=“alignleft” width=“940”]
Taylor Swift said that she was honoured to perform at the palace. “This is my first time playing at Kensington Palace or any palace for that matter,” she said. “I want to thank you for having me Prince William, this is just amazing.” Considering how princesses and royalty are a bit of a recurring theme in Swift’s songs, we can safely assume that this event will find a place in her next album. Prince William and Taylor Swift listen on as Bon Jovi belts out some of his signature song. The singer, songwriter and performer, is a product of the great hair band days of the 1980s and is still filling arenas at age 51. Even Taylor Swift and the future king of England know when to step aside for the professionals take over. AFP image[/caption] [caption id=“attachment_1257151” align=“alignleft” width=“940”]

This power-filled performance wasn’t all there was on offer. Other guests at the event included ‘Downton Abbey’ star Michelle Dockery, Benedict Cumberbatch, James Blunt, Colin Firth and Tinie Tempah. AFP image[/caption]
