Actress Payal Ghosh recently opened up about a cherished memory with the legendary Dharmendra ji, recalling an incident that left a lasting mark on her career and her journey in Bollywood.
While shooting for Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi, Payal shared that Dharmendra ji was filming on the set right next to hers. What happened one afternoon, she says, will remain with her forever.
Payal remembers Dharmendra ji accidentally bumping into her, and what followed was a simple yet powerful exchange—one that shaped her motivation and focus.
“He looked at me with so much warmth,” Payal recalled. “He asked if it was my Bollywood debut and then told me, ‘You’ll definitely go a long way. I can see the passion for acting in your eyes.’ Those words have stayed with me ever since. They made me more goal-oriented and more focused on my work.”
For Payal, who grew up admiring Dharmendra ji’s iconic performances, receiving such genuine encouragement from him felt surreal. She describes the moment as an unexpected blessing—something she continues to carry in her heart as she moves forward in her career.
The late Dharmendra ji was known for his humility, kindness, and ability to inspire young artists effortlessly. Payal’s memory is one of many that reflect the warmth he shared with people around him, both on and off set.
Even today, as she looks back on that brief encounter, Payal believes that his words served as an anchor during challenging times and a reminder to stay true to her passion.
“It wasn’t just a compliment—it was guidance, a blessing,” she said. “I feel fortunate that I got to experience that moment with him.”
