Asha Negi, who garnered popularity with Pavitra Rishta, featured in Baarish opposite followed by Anurag Basu’s directorial Ludo.
In a recent conversation, the actress spoke about how a coordinator tried to convince her that she needs to compromise to get work in the industry.
“Back then, there were coordinators. This was some coordinator during that time, some random guy. I ended up meeting. I’m glad that we met and he started talking about television mein ye woh, and I was in my early 20s. He was almost trying to brainwash me that this is what happens and this is how you will grow. He told me, jitne bhi bade TV actors hai, all have done it," Negi said while sharing about her casting couching experience to Hauterfly.
“I told him, ‘If this happens, then I’m not interested’… My friend just said, ‘All this happens; it’s normal.’ He wasn’t shocked at all,” she added.

In one of the interviews, she revealed that she went on a hunger strike to convince her parents about her passion for acting. “They thought it’s one of those phases where I wanted pets at home. I tried so hard but they never took me seriously. This is when I went on a hunger strike and starved myself for 2-3 days. My mother could not take that, and she spoke to me. I asked her to give me 2-3 months, and told her if nothing happens, I would come back. She was the one who convinced my father and, finally, I came to the city,” said Negi to India Today.
