Parmanu: John Abraham's upcoming new poster unveils his look amid rough terrains of Pokhran

John Abraham's upcoming venture, Parmanu - The Story of Pokhran, has been intriguing from the day it was announced. The entire thread of events around which the premise of the film is based on is a covert government operation. With Abraham heading the venture, as an actor as well as a co-producer, the expectations with the film is also pretty high.

The first poster of the film was announced by Abraham on 22 June, and it represented the whole political map of the region of Rajasthan where the Indian nuclear test site of Pokhran is situated. Now the actor has revealed another poster of the film and it brings forth the actor's look as well as a glimpse of the test site. He took to Twitter on 14 August and posted:

He is shown marching forward in the arid terrains of Pokran and following him in the background is a military camp base adorned with a convoy of army jeeps, vans etc.

The film is based on Pokhran-II, the series of five nuclear bomb test explosions conducted in Rajasthan in 1998.

Speaking to The Indian Express regarding the film, Abraham said, "Parmanu is an ode to the army and scientists, who although ordinary people, truly accomplished extraordinary feats in the face of adversity to ensure that India finds its due place on the world nuclear map. It is a powerful human story of ordinary citizens who changed the trajectory of the country. It is so special to me because it combines all the aspects of film making that really speak to me – a thrilling edge of the seat plotline."

Parmanu has been produced by KriArj Entertainment, Zee Studios, Kyta Productions in association with Abraham's JA Entertainment. It stars Diana Penty and Boman Irani along with Abraham.

Abraham is also credited to have written the film along with Saiwyn Quadros and Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh (writers of Neerja). The music of the film is helmed by music composer duo Sachin-Jigar.

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, Parmanu - The Story of Pokhran is all set to release on 8 December,  2017.
