Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha tied the knot in a grand ceremony in Udaipur on 24 September. The fairytale wedding was a close-knit affair with only family and the couple’s bosom friends. Now, a report suggests that Parineeti and Raghav strictly maintained a ’no-gift’ policy from their wedding guests while the ‘milni’ was also cramped to a minimal amount. ‘No gift’ policy and ‘milni’ amount According to a PinkVilla report, a source close to the development said that no gifts were exchanged at Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha's wedding. The source added that the duo did not even accept any gifts from their loved ones. Additionally, the ‘milni’ was kept strictly to Rs 11. ‘Milni’ is a ritual in Hindu weddings where the bride’s relatives often give the groom and his family gifts and cash as part of their meeting. When asked about the marriage and the gift she had given to the newlyweds, Madhu Chopra said, “Bahut badhiya… Unhone sab mana kar diya, no lena-dena, bas ashirwad (It was great. They asked us to not gift anything, there was no exchange of gifts. Just gave them my blessings).” As Parineeti’s dearest cousin Priyanka was missing from the event, her mother was also asked about it. Pointing towards her daughter’s work commitments, Madhu said, “Woh kam kar rahi hai (She is working).” While Priyanka couldn’t attend her ’little one’s’ big day, her mother and brother Sidharth Chopra were part of the pre-wedding and wedding festivities in Delhi as well as in Udaipur. While Parineeti’s guest list included fashion designer Manish Malhotra and Tennis star Sania Mirza, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray and cricketer-turned-politician Harbhajan Singh graced the occasion from the groom’s side. Apart from Priyanka Chopra, it was Karan Johar who also had to give the wedding a miss. The filmmaker-producer couldn’t join the event as he had to attend a family emergency at the last minute.
