Anushka Sharma’s horror-thriller Pari opened at the box-office yesterday. Despite being off to a slow start in the morning, the film picked up during the evening and night hours on Friday. YouTube[/caption] According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, _Pari_ raked in a total of Rs 4.36 crore on its opening day despite some theaters being shut due to Holi celebrations and with the film not having released in some south markets. Adarsh took to his Twitter profile to share these updates.

Prior to _Pari’_s release, Anushka and the film’s team released seven short ‘screamers’ in order to build the audience’s anticipation and feed their curiosity. Pari, starring Anushka, Rajat Kapoor and Ritabhari Chakraborty, is co-produced by Anushka and her brother Karnesh Sharma’s Clean Slate Films, KriArj Entertainment and Kyta Productions. The film has been directed by Prosit Roy . Pari is Anushka’s third film as a producer with Clean Slate Films having previously backed NH10 and Phillauri.
