Paresh Rawal: 'Ajay Devgn's father asked me to drink my urine for 15 days when I was injured, I decided to...'

Paresh Rawal has revealed in an interview with The Lallantop how Ajay Devgn’s father Veeru Devgan asked him to drink his urine for 15 days when he was injured.

The actor said, ‘I did this for 15 days. 15 days later when the doctor took my X-ray, he was shocked. The doctor asked me, ‘How did this cementing happen?’ He could see a white line forming. I was supposed to be discharged in 2-2.5 months, but I was discharged in 1.5 months. It was like magic.’

Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal are two of the finest actors in the Indian film industry. In a recent interview, the latter spoke about the former’s no-nonsense attitude and recalled an incident where he made a producer wash utensils after a meal together. Paresh also revealed that he was the first character artist to demand Rs 1 crore.

“There was this producer – I won’t name him. Nana told him to come home one day. He asked, ‘Do you eat mutton?’ The producer ate. After the meal, Nana said – ‘You ate, right? Now go and wash the dishes.’ That is Nana Patekar- baap hai. Wo alag hi hai. Wo mitti alag hai yaar. (He’s a legend. He’s built different, made from a different mold)," said Paresh Rawal while talking to The Lallantop.

Recalling how demanding 1 crore from Nana Patekar, created a stir, he said. “Even lead heroes didn’t ask for that much. But Nana asked for it – and got it."

The veteran actor said that if the artist feels a genuine connection, he will work for even a rupee but if there’s no connection, even a huge amount won’t persuade him. Giving the example of Nana Patekar, Rawal shared, “Nana Patekar is like that! He was the first character actor to demand one crore for a role. Even lead actors didn’t ask for that much back then. But Nana Patekar did- and he got it."
